Verse: “Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful.” (1 Corinthians 1:4-9)

God will remain faithful even when you are not.

I have good intentions. I try my best to live my life as a “good” person. However, no matter how hard I try, there are times when I make mistakes. I say the wrong thing. I make a bad decision. I do not think of the long-term impact. I think this is the case for most people. For me, this causes doubts and anxiety to creep in. If I make mistakes and the wrong decisions, how will I know for sure that everything will turn out okay? How will I ensure I have good friends, a successful job, a happy marriage, and a fulfilled life?

As I was reading the above scripture, a picture came to me. As you may know, I am planning a wedding right now. Right after I got engaged, the stress of wedding planning got to me. I had no idea how much money, time, and organization goes into that process (props to you wedding planners out there).

Not to mention, we are in the midst of a pandemic. This added another thing on top of the stress. We needed to ensure we found somewhere with an open outdoor area that allowed for distancing and that was large enough to space out based on our state’s regulations right now. The list felt too long, too overwhelming, and like there was no good place to start.

However, what I found, is that once we solidified our venue, all of that stress began to dissolve. We found a spot for our wedding and we selected a date. So, no matter what happens, we will have a wedding and we will be married. After that point, I still have tons of things to figure out all the way from my dress to what color linens. But those things don’t hold a huge weight because they will be figured out.

In the same way, if you view your life as a “wedding,” this can still be true. If the venue/place it will be, is your faith, you already know God has your life in His hands. He ensures your needs will be met. He has a plan, and He is faithful to fulfill it. With a wedding, you know you will spend your life with the one you love. Everything else just enhances it. In the same way, you know you will spend this life and eternity in the hands of the Creator. There are SO many other things that are important: your family, friends, school, job, and everything in between. And they require you to think about them and put in the effort. But those things do not determine your worth in life.

Whether we mess up or life just throws unexpected curveballs, He can be trusted even when you cannot. No matter what happens, you can rest in the fact that God has a plan, and He will work everything out. This doesn’t mean you abandon all your decisions; it means you invest your faith in God and at the end of the day you
